250 students will take part in the international competition “International Relations: Culture of Peaceful Dialogue” in Ashgabat


On May 22, the international competition “International Relations: Culture of Peaceful Dialogue” starts in Ashgabat with the participation of students from higher educational institutions of Central Asia, the Caspian states, Turkey and China. The competition is organized jointly by the Ministry of Education and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

250 students from Turkmenistan and participating countries will compete in the international competition. The competition will bring together participants from 20 Turkmen and 11 foreign universities in 9 countries. Representatives of such prestigious higher schools as the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, ADA University of Azerbaijan, Institute of Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Caspian University of Technologies and Engineering named after Sh. Yessenov of Kazakhstan, Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan named after K. will come to Ashgabat. Dikambaev, Tajik National University, Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Istanbul Jerrahpasa University, China University of International Relations, University of World Economy and Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The organizers are looking forward to the arrival of foreign guests who will begin arriving in the Turkmen capital today. Active preparations are underway to ensure high-level organization of the reception of participants, opening and holding of the event.

The competition will be held in the form of individual and team competitions. The first stage will include a test consisting of questions on the topic of regional and international relations, their political-diplomatic, trade-economic, historical-cultural components and other relevant areas.

In the individual round, participants will be offered tasks in such areas as modeling international negotiations, the use of information technology in the study of international economic relations, the study of global trends in international transport logistics, the use of mathematics and mathematical modeling in making optimal decisions in international relations, and others.

In the team stage, competitors will have to cope with tasks on the application of mathematical methods in international relations, mathematical modeling, econometrics, logistics and other areas.

A thematic brain-ring will also be held for students, following which the jury will highlight active participants, the best discussions, teams, as well as constructive ideas and proposals put forward during the game. The main goal of the brainstorming session is to present optimal methods of dialogue and cooperation between international actors and their types as a result of the analysis of current issues on the international and regional agenda.

The winners of the international competition will be awarded medals and diplomas, as well as certificates of honor and gifts.

As it is known, at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolution “2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust”, initiated by Turkmenistan, was unanimously adopted, which is based on the goals of disseminating the principles of peacefulness, a culture of peaceful dialogue, and strengthening trust between states .

In this regard, the upcoming competition is of great importance in achieving positive results in the development of international dialogue and youth cooperation, and the promotion of cultural diplomacy.

The objectives of the competition include identifying talented and capable students, expanding interaction between universities in the field of science, education, training young specialists, and establishing friendly ties between teachers and students from different countries.

We would like to add that a rich cultural and entertainment program has been prepared for guests of the capital, within the framework of which an introduction to the Higher School of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan, excursions around Ashgabat and other events are planned.
